I spent a chunk of my very rainy Illinois weekend rummaging through my childhood LEGO bricks and separating out all of the impostors (Mega Bloks & TYCO blocks) and non-brick nuggets (screwdriver, dominoes, Erector Set pieces). I told my parents, as I was scouring the pieces for the “LEGO” stamp, “You made me this way.”
I was able to associate unique pieces with sets I received. I held up a large wheel and told my Dad that it was part of a gift I received on my First Communion after it was put on top of the china cabinet because I was acting up.
The cargo plane, rescue boat, and small racing car are all fresh in my mind after 20 years ago.
